Just Basements is owned and operated by President, Designer and Project Manager Norm Lecuyer. A lifetime Ottawa resident, Mr. Lecuyer has an extensive and unique combination of construction experience adding value to each and every one of our projects.

Quality

We have a very strong commitment to quality at Just Basements. It starts with the design — your basement design should suit your home, your family and your budget. We design quality into our projects — selecting the right materials is essential. In this era of big box solutions, there are products out there that just won’t hold up. We will help you with the selection of each and every component that goes into your basement project. There are many ways to build your basement, but we strive to build it the best way possible.

Our carpenters and sub-trades have been trained to do it right every time….be efficient and not cut corners. After all, there is no easy way if the quality of the project is compromised. Because our company is only focused on basements, we are constantly checking out new products, materials and techniques to determine if they are best suited to basements and can live up to the quality and dependability we demand for our customers… we’ve even developed a few of our own.

Knowledge

We are basement experts. We do more basements than any other designers or contractors in Ottawa. We eat, drink and sleep basements and, of course, we dream basements. We have designed and constructed hundreds of basement projects allowing us to develop ideas, concepts and techniques that make for better basement design and construction.

Owner Norm Lecuyer has more than 25 years of construction experience. He is also a Registered Home Inspector (RHI) with the Ontario Association of Home Inspectors. Since studying Architecture in the United States, Mr. Lecuyer has developed and taught many construction-related courses and seminars at both the industry and college levels. Courses/seminars developed or taught include: Residential Roofing, Residential Heating, Residential Structures, Residential Building Envelopes, and Residential Defect Recognition.

Mr. Lecuyer and Just Basements bring its customers an exceptional and wide variety of residential construction experience and knowledge. When we say we know how to design and build basements; we mean it.

Integrity

In this day of fly-by-night contractors having limited construction knowledge and even less integrity, it’s reassuring to Just Basements customers that they can rely on a company with an extremely high level of integrity. It may be difficult these days to find an ethical construction company, let alone a company with a real understanding of the term. Just Basements owner Norm Lecuyer not only understands ethics, he has developed and taught college level Ethics courses.
