People often ask us if we would do anything else in their home and, of course, we will, but only if we are doing the basement as well. We do not specialize in kitchens, bathrooms, landscaping or decks. We specialize in basements.

Design-Build

Just Basements is a design-build firm. What does that mean? It means that unlike a general contractor or carpenter who will just finish your basement; we will help you design it and then build it for you. Design-build contractors bring together the best of two worlds – Design and Contracting. Designers and architects are skilled at the esthetic and functionality of a renovation project, but generally do not have the experience or skill to construct. Contractors are skilled at constructing what they are told to construct, but don’t have the design skills needed. We bring our clients both these services in one company. Because designers and contractors both charge for their services….a design build contractor is generally more economical in producing a similar product. By being both the designers and the builders; Just Basements offers a seamless transition from dream to reality.

Design

We design basements…..many of them each year. Basements present many different design challenges that you won’t find in other areas of the home Cold, dark, dampness, low headroom, posts, beams, ductwork, pipes, water meters, furnaces, foundation walls and stairs all offer challenges to designing a warm, safe, functional and attractive basement. At Just Basements; we are very experienced dealing with all the issues that may arise with this type of project. We will be there every step of the way….designing with you….from bathroom fixture layout to paint colour selections….from ductwork relocations to lighting design. Build

We build basements….many of them each year. We know our stuff. What are the best methods to use, what are the best products to use…..Just Basements builds more basements than anyone else in Ottawa. Our carpenters and sub-trades are highly experienced at constructing superior quality basements…from framing to drywall…from electrical to plumbing. We offer our clients a high level of construction quality that is second to none. With Just Basements you are taping into a wealth of knowledge and experience that you just can’t get anywhere else. We order and purchase all the materials, we schedule and manage all trades needed and we do all the rough and finish carpentry required to complete your basement project. Along with the design; we literally take your basement project from start to finish.
