Senior Architectural Technologist

Just Basements is seeking a detail oriented individual to fill the role of Senior Architectural Technologist. This person will lead, grow, motivate and advance our design department as industry leaders. As well, they will prepare plans and specifications in compliance with applicable laws, standards and relevant Building Code.

Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with Sales and Construction teams to design great solutions for our clients.

  • Sell designs to clients, maintaining customer satisfaction and expectations with design/budget through design and construction.

  • Produce and provide working drawings to the construction and contracts departments.

  • Operate computer-assisted design systems to assist in the development of architectural designs.

  • Prepare construction packages, ensure delivery of selections to job site at appropriate time, interact with sub-trades, provide construction support, liaise with construction and client to ensure what was sold is being built.

  • Estimate costs and materials.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 - 7 years’ experience.

  • Preferably residential experience, renovation experience. an asset.

  • Extensive drawing/drafting knowledge - AutoCAD, Revit, Chief Architect

  • Develop permit drawings, drawing details and documentation

  • Knowledge of construction estimating an asset.

  • Extensive OBC knowledge (Part 3 and 9)

  • BCIN number required.

  • 3-year Architecture Technologist Diploma.

  • Great attitude and strong communication skills

  • Must have a valid Ontario drivers’ license and reliable vehicle.
