Design trends are constantly involving throughout the years. Here are our predictions for the
most popular key design elements in 2026:
1. Deeper, expressive palettes
• Neutrals are still a strong leader with the colour palette of a space, but ones with
warmth and depth are being preferred
• Earthy tones (olive greens, deep plums, muddy blues) are some of the most
popular
• Colour drenching, where entire walls or rooms being covered in one tone/colour allows you to use colour as architecture, not just an accent
2. Soft, Sculptural Forms
• Architectural elements are more organic/sculptural-- (arches in doorways, curved
walls, etc.)
• Light fixtures are less rigid and feature curved lines or soft geometric shapes
• Custom cabinetry & built-in elements are complete with flowing wood finishes, moving away from solid colours with minimal texture
• Each element is used to be expressive and purposeful

3. Wellness & Tech Integration
• There’s a growing emphasis on spaces that support well-being: home gyms, spa-
like bathrooms, saunas, reading nooks, etc.
• Celebrating family heirlooms or highlighting personal storytelling in materials &
finishes are also gaining popularity. Customizing furniture pieces or built-in
elements to highlight these elements allow you to tell your story through design.
• Tech is becoming more seamless: lighting, sound systems, and smart controls
are built-in to serve the design aesthetic and function as a unit.
4. Sustainability
• Materials with provenance, circular economy ideas, and reuse of existing
elements are huge factors to consider when designing a space.
• Eco-friendly materials, energy efficient lighting fixtures, water-saving fixtures, and
biophilic design with indoor plants are all examples of conscious decisions that
homeowners are making to contribution to the wellness of the environment
